Background remover

Remove backgrounds without uploading your photos

BEN2 is a 1024px generalist for clean cutouts of people, products and pets. It runs on your own GPU and exports a transparent PNG — nothing ever leaves the tab.

One high-resolution model

BEN2 Base reads the photo at 1024px for a detailed matte. It downloads once, then works offline.

Refine the matte

Feather edges, expand or contract the mask, then touch up with the Reveal and Hide brushes. Every step is a layer, so nothing is destructive.

Straight to product shots

Drop the cutout onto a white, color, gradient, or photo backdrop, upscale to 4K, and batch-export the whole set as a ZIP.

FAQ

Questions, answered plainly

Is background removal really free and unlimited?
Yes. Your GPU does the work, so there are no per-image server costs to meter. No account, no credits, no watermark, no resolution ransom.
Which model does it use?
BEN2 Base (MIT, 2025), a 1024px generalist for clean cutouts. Hair and fine edges can be touched up afterwards with the reveal/hide brush.
Do my photos get uploaded?
No. Model weights download once from a pinned Hugging Face revision into your browser cache; inference runs on-device via WebGPU (WASM fallback where WebGPU is unavailable).
